Members of the YAG helped to promote as well as take part in the CAFOD: Escape Poverty Fundraiser, tickets to the escape room were sold during break by members of the RE department. The escape room was made up of 5 tasks, led by a RE teacher. Each team needed to complete each room as quickly and correctly as possible in order to escape! The goal to was raise £150 for CAFOD World Gifts so the YAG can start to build a CAFOD village.
Alzheimer's Society
The Youth Action Group put their heads together to create a fundraising plan. They soon realised that there were lots of friends/staff/families that are affected by Alzheimer’s in our school community. Upon learning that they decided to organise a bake sale to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Thanks to the generosity of the pupils, families and staff they managed to raise £180!
Lenten Challenge
St Illtyd’s staff and pupils took on the challenge of walking 200km as a school during Lent to raise money for CAFOD. They covered a massive distance during their PE lessons, topped up by those who took the distance on as a personal challenge. Thanks to the generosity of our school community and local parishes we managed to raise £357 for CAFOD last year.
